Classic cars were engineered in an era when every component was designed with real-world driving in mind. Engineers and craftsmen built them to handle daily roads, long highway stretches, twisting mountain passes, and even the occasional pothole. They weren’t conceived as static museum pieces or trailer queens; they were meant to move, to feel the wind, to rumble with purpose.
Driving a classic car honors the designers who sketched radical new body lines late into the night, the builders who hand-assembled engines with pride, and the factories that once echoed with the sound of progress. Every mile logged is a testament to their vision and craftsmanship; it proves that their work still delivers joy and utility long after the original warranty expired.
Together, Ed & Clover have driven their 1966 230SL over 65,000 miles through nearly every corner of the continental United States - from Maine to California and everywhere in between. Ms. Magoo has seen deserts, mountains, beaches, forests and plains. This website catalogs her travels through 26 different states over a period of more than twenty years.

Putting 65,000 miles on a car that's over 50 years old isn't easy to do. Ms. Magoo needs frequent maintenance and repairs in order to reach distant destinations, sometimes even on the road. Ed has a background as an auto mechanic and does all the maintenance and repairs on her himself (sometimes with a helper).
Here's a brief list of some of the maintenance that Ed has done over the years to keep Ms. Magoo on the road. Some have even been done multiple times.
